This policy explains what personal information Foundier (“we,” “us”) collects through foundier.com and our services, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
Foundier is the data controller for the purposes of this policy. Contact: hello@foundier.com.
1. What we collect, and where it comes from
Information you give us directly:
- Contact details (name, email, company, website) when you submit a form, email us, or subscribe to our newsletter
- Free AI Visibility Snapshot requests: your name, business email, website, what your business does, the city or region you serve, and any competitor names you choose to give us
- Agency partner requests: your name, work email, agency website, expected referral volume, and any details you share about a client you would like audited
- Booking and intake information when you book a call: name, email, company name, website URL, platform, your answers to our intake questions (including business context and competitor names you choose to share)
- Business information you share during an engagement, including website access credentials where you grant them
Submissions from forms on the Site are stored in the Site’s database and emailed to our team so we can respond.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical and usage data when you visit the Site: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and actions such as form submissions, collected in part through Google Analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details of cookies and similar technologies.
Information from service providers:
- Payment confirmation from our payment processor (we do not receive or store your full card or bank details; those go directly to the processor)
- Details about a business and its website from an agency in our partner program that asks us to audit or work on that business
Business contact details for outreach:
- The name, job title, business email address and firm details of owners and senior staff at businesses we think may benefit from our services, obtained from business data providers (such as Apollo.io) and public sources such as company websites and professional directories
2. How we use it
- To provide the services you request: preparing free snapshots, running audits, performing engagements, and communicating about your project
- To test how AI platforms describe your business: when we prepare a snapshot or audit, we ask AI platforms (such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews) the questions your buyers might ask and record the answers. Those questions can include your business name, website, category, location, and the competitor names you gave us. We do not include your personal contact details in them.
- To respond to inquiries and send booking confirmations, invoices, reminders, and service communications, including at most one follow-up email after a free snapshot
- To send our newsletter or marketing emails if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe any time via the link in each email)
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including measuring visits and form submissions with Google Analytics
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
- To contact businesses about our services (business-to-business outreach), on the basis of our legitimate interest in offering relevant services to businesses. Every outreach email says who we are and how to opt out. If you reply asking us to stop, or email hello@foundier.com, we add you to a do-not-contact list and will not email you again.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to run our business, under their own privacy commitments:
- Cal.com (scheduling): processes your booking details and intake answers when you book a call
- Payoneer (payments): processes invoices and payments
- Apollo.io (sales software): provides and stores business contact details we use for outreach
- Website hosting and email providers: store Site data and our correspondence
- Google: Google Analytics (added through Google’s Site Kit plugin) measures how the Site is used, and Google Fonts serves the Site’s fonts; see the Cookie Policy
- AI platforms (such as OpenAI, Perplexity, Anthropic, and Google): receive the questions we ask when preparing snapshots and audits, as described in Section 2
- Agency partners: if an agency in our partner program brought you to us, we report on the work to that agency, under a written confidentiality agreement
- Professional advisers or authorities where required by law
4. International transfers
Foundier serves clients internationally and our team operates across borders. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and countries without an EU or UK adequacy decision, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. We take reasonable steps to protect it wherever it is processed.
5. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above: inquiry, snapshot, application, and booking data (including form submissions stored in the Site’s database) for as long as we have an active relationship or a legitimate need to retain it; engagement records and invoices as required for tax and accounting; newsletter data until you unsubscribe; outreach contact details for up to 12 months after our last contact, unless you become a client or ask us to stop, in which case we keep only what we need to make sure we do not contact you again. Website access credentials you grant us are deleted or revoked at the end of an engagement.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@foundier.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are in a jurisdiction with a supervisory authority (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may also lodge a complaint with that authority.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including limiting access to those who need it. No internet transmission is completely secure; if a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Children
The Site and our services are for businesses and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy by posting a revised version on this page and changing the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be flagged on the Site or by email where appropriate.
